Dear AdNet Employees, Clients, and Friends;
Every year on March 8th, International Women’s Day is celebrated globally. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. International Women’s Day did not become officially recognized by the United Nations until 1977, though it has been celebrated since as early as 1908.
In March 2011, President Barrak Obama declared that going forward March would be recognized as International Women’s Month, calling on Americans to reflect on “the extraordinary accomplishments of women” in history and modern times. Then, Obama’s Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton launched the “100 Women Initiative: Empowering Women and Girls through International Exchanges”.
AdNet is an LGBT and woman-owned-business so, naturally, this month is dear to the company’s heart. If it weren’t for women like Anna Bissell (first female CEO in America) or Beth E. Ford (first openly gay female CEO in America), AdNet may have looked different, yet we have always been warriors making a difference and overcoming adversity.
AdNet is proudly internally staffed by a group of incredible women who each bring a unique set of talents to the table. Together, we handle multiple moving parts effectively and make it look easy to some when in fact, it’s fast moving and intense as much as it is fulfilling to support people on their career choices.
Women are the backbone of our country, and we are excited to celebrate women throughout this month, and every month of the year.
Thank you to all the women who came before us to open the doors of opportunity and pave the way for us to discover our greatness!! 😊
