Dear AdNet Employees, Clients, and Friends:
Happy Pride Month and Juneteenth!
June is a beautiful reminder that each of us deserves to live authentically, love openly, and be celebrated for exactly who we are. Pride Month is often associated with parades, rainbow flags, and joyful gatherings, but at its core, Pride is about courage. It is about having the strength to be yourself in a world that may not always understand your journey. Juneteenth is a sacred reminder of our precious freedom and the ongoing challenges we all face when someone does not “see” us.
As someone who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have spent many years reflecting on what Pride means to me. It means freedom. It means being able to build a life with the person I love. It means finding community, chosen family when my family failed miserably to practice unconditional love, and loving our allies who stand beside us through both celebrations and challenges. Most importantly, it means recognizing that every person has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
I love the Juneteenth celebrations and the display of pure joy from my friends and employees who hold this day as sacred and precious. Because it is. When others make fun of the June celebrations, focus our energy on kindness, love, and joy. As time goes on, the energy of love is much bigger than hate. We see the good shifts happening and to keep the shifts going towards welcoming energy we keep showing up and following the path of integrity.
The younger generations embrace diversity in ways that were not always common when I was growing up. They remind us that kindness transcends any label we see in society and that acceptance creates stronger families, workplaces, and communities. When we approach one another with curiosity instead of judgment and compassion instead of fear, wonderful things happen.
At AdNet, our purpose has always been to Advocate for Workplace Excellence, and that begins with creating spaces where people feel valued, heard, and respected. Whether you are celebrating Pride Month or Juneteenth personally, supporting a loved one, or simply taking time to learn from experiences different from your own, know that every act of understanding helps create a better world. And keep celebrating ourselves every month because our love is way bigger than any one person’s negative words.
This month, I encourage all of us to celebrate what makes us unique while remembering the qualities that unite us: love, integrity, kindness, and hope. The more we honor those values, the brighter our collective future becomes.
May your June be filled with joy, meaningful connections, and the confidence to shine as your authentic self.
Always remember that when you interact with the AdNet family, you are welcomed, appreciated, and cared for.
With gratitude,
Betsy Cerulo
