Tidbits of Joy #83 - What is Your Legacy in Business?

Dear AdNet Employees, Clients and Friends;

Those who are dedicated to creating a lasting legacy in the business world often build their companies to prioritize a broader purpose, such as solving societal problems, and contributing positively to their communities. Each day I step into my office, I strive to make AdNet that kind of environment for my employees and all the communities we serve. Our workforce is diverse, and everyone’s needs are important which drives me to create a powerful legacy for us all to share. And legacy will live for me through my entire life as it does not just relate to business but rather for the kind of person I want to be.

When I was first mapping out the second season of Room at the Table, I looked at the previous season to see what topics could filter into the seasons to come, and legacy was definitely one of them. In this year’s finale, I am joined by my friend, Nedra Dickson – Managing Director of Global Supplier Inclusion and Sustainability at Accenture, to discuss the concept of legacy and the impact of supplier diversity. We also explore how collaboration, mentorship, and inclusivity can create meaningful, long-term success for small businesses and communities. I encourage you to take a listen to this episode and reflect on what legacy means to you and what you wish to leave behind in your respective careers whatever that may be. We all have the opportunity to make decisions that can leave lasting impacts on the generations below us.

As the CEO of AdNet, my legacy means creating a safe and healthy workforce for all people. I am passionate and dedicated to uplifting and empowering underrepresented communities who are often discriminated against in the workplace. Every person deserves to go to work each day and feel safe in doing so. It is inexcusable for employers to discriminate against someone based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, etc. and AdNet does not tolerate hate. If I am remembered for one thing as a businesswoman, my hope is that I am remembered for providing a safe and heart-centered environment for my employees.

Thank you to everyone who has listened each month to the first and second season of Room at the Table! Stay tuned for our third season of Room at the Table, releasing in the spring of 2025.
